Microtubules are dynamic polymers of αβ-tubulin that have essential roles organizing the insides of cells and orchestrating proper segregation of genetic material during cell division. Fundamental aspects about microtubule dynamics remain poorly understood. TheRiceLab uses an interdisciplinary set of approaches - structure, biochemistry, reconstitution, microscopy, computer modeling, and more - to make new discoveries about molecular mechanisms that generate and regulate microtubule dynamics.
